Try our take on the traditional holiday ham. Using apricot to replace those out of date pineapple rings will give the ham a vibrantly colored glaze that will be show stopper for any family gathering.

Cook Time

Yield

20 Servings

Ingredients

  • 10 Pounds Spiral-Cut-Bone-In Brown Sugar Ham
  • 1/2 Cup Apricot Jam
  • 1/2 Onion-Chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons Stone Ground Mustard
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter

Directions

  • Preheat oven to 350°
  • Remove ham from package and place flat side down into a large roasting pan. Gently score 1/2 inch into the skin of the ham in a diamond crossing pattern.
  • Chop onion and saute in a small saucepan on medium low with butter.
  • When the onions are semi translucent add the spice packet that came with the ham. Follow directions on packet.
  • Once glaze mixture has come to a gentle boil add apricot jam, and stone ground mustard. Remove from heat. (It's okay if the mixture appears thick. Do not thin with water. The glaze will thin from the meat juices in the pan while roasting.)
  • Pour the glaze over the ham and place in oven. Baste the ham with the glaze every 30 minutes, until an instant-read thermometer inserted in the thickest part reads 140°
  • Let ham rest for 15 min. before carving.
